Unbound: A Literary Series with BAM and Greenlight Bookstore will return for a third season of unique talks and two highly anticipated book launches by contemporary authors Angélique Kidjo (Jan. 27) and Alain de Botton (Mar. 3).

Known for her electrifying voice and fearless advocacy work, Grammy Award-winning singer Angélique Kidjo will speak about her debut memoir “Spirit Rising: My Life, My Music.” The book reveals the inspiring story of her journey from a little-known city in Benin, on the west coast of Africa, to international superstardom. At every step, Kidjo reinforces her faith in the power of music to create bonds of understanding between diverse people and overcome all forms of intolerance.

In “The News: A User’s Manual,” best-selling philosopher Alain de Botton examines the effects of today’s pervasive, accelerated news cycle on our brains, souls, and views of each other—often in ways we don’t fully perceive. Mixing snippets of current events with philosophical reflections, “The News” blends the timeless with the contemporary, bringing the wisdom of thousands of years of culture to bear on our contemporary obsessions and neuroses.
