‘Rage is Back’ — a new novel by Adam Mansbach, with launch event in Brooklyn

This Wednesday, January 16, Adam Mansbach will be appearing in Brooklyn to celebrate the release of his new novelRage is Back.” From the writer of the #1 New York Times bestseller “Go the F**k to Sleep” comes a book illuminating New York City’s underground arts communities in the 1980s. Mansbach offers a glimpse into the city’s graffiti scene, the Mole People inhabiting subway tunnels, and drug dens in Crown Heights. “Rage is Back” is a unique novel, especially appealing to those with an interest in pop culture specific to New York City, and Mansbach is an innovative contributor to modern literature; his writing style, which he calls “lit hop,” merges hip-hop and traditional storytelling.

Even before making a name for himself with a adult-friendly, humorous children’s book “Go the F**k to Sleep” (famously narrated by Samuel L. Jackson), Mansbach was an esteemed novelist. His book “The End of the Jews” won the California Book Award, and Angry Black White Boy has received widespread acclaim.

Wednesday’s event begins at 7pm. The event will include a cocktail reception with a special set by DJ J. Period, as well as an exhibition by graffiti artist KEO. powerHouse is located at 37 Main St. in DUMBO.
