Second “Litost: An Evening of Music & Reading” To Be Held In Bushwick

Back in December, Bookbeat covered the very first “Litost: An Evening of Music & Reading”.

Created by Angela Sundtrom, Litost was organized to showcase original writing and musical performances by individuals who do not read their work publicly often. In case you missed it, the full story can be found here.

The event was such a success that organizer Angela Sundstrom has organized a second Litost. The invitation appears below:

Adam Caine is a guitarist and composer. Projects include The Adam Caine Trio & Quartet, The Moon, and solo guitar. His albums have received rave reviews in the Wire, Cadence, and All About Jazz. As a composer for video art, Caine’s music has been featured in over 20 international festivals.

Meghan Dunn is the author of Who Also Will Not Yield, a collaborative art and poetry chapbook, with artist Ben Pinder. She lives in Brooklyn, NY, where she teaches high school English. Her work has appeared in Ploughshares, Narrative, Poetry Northwest, Southern Humanities Review, and The Collagist, among others. She is a four-time recipient of scholarships from the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference. meghandunnpoet.com
Sammy Gallo is a Brooklyn based musician.

Joseph Charles Mollica worked for Newsday and the Sag Harbor Express before spending eight years reporting on crime and general mayhem in New York City. More recently, he has taught English at several area colleges and a New York City public high school. He has an MFA in creative writing from the New School, and is now back to work on a collection of short stories. His fiction has appeared largely in publications that no longer exist. He currently lives in Brooklyn and teaches critical reading in a program for urban scholars.
Rebecca Nison is the author of If We’d Never Seen the Sea, a collection of graphic poetry. Her short fiction and poetry are published in F(r)iction, Pank, Weave, Gargoyle, Copper Nickel, The Bushwick Review, and others. She teaches writing courses at Parsons The New School for Design and she serves on the board of directors of Whoopi & Maya, a cannabis company centered around women’s health. She’s currently at work on three book-length projects: a novel, a short story collection, and a memoir.
Genifer Robin is a Brooklyn Based musician.
Johannah Rodgers is a writer, artist, and educator whose work explores issues related to representation and communication practices across media. She is the author of Technology: A Reader for Writers (Oxford University Press, 2014), the digital fiction project DNA (mimeograph/The Brooklyn Rail, 2014), and the book sentences (Red Dust, 2007).
