Brooklyn has long been home to a slew of talented authors, and tonight BAM will host a program that celebrates just that: Brooklyn Literary Mash-Up meshes the work of some of the borough’s most notable classic and modern writers. The featured texts, including pieces by Walt Whitman and Colson Whitehead, will be enlivened by members of the Brooklyn International Theater Company, who use music, images, spoken word, and movement in their performances. Tonight’s program is curated and directed by Nelson George, a Brooklyn-based filmmaker.
The event begins at 7:30 pm in the Fishman Space at BAM Fisher. BAM Fisher is located at 321 Ashland Place in Fort Greene.
