Peruse vintage literary ephemera, listen in on fascinating lectures and take home the rare book of your dreams at the Brooklyn Antiquarian Book Fair, returning to Greenpoint for its sixth year Sept. 7th and 8th.
The fair will feature 110 dealers with over 50,000 items, from vintage books and first editions, to rare prints and vernacular photography. Exhibitions will showcase Afro-futurist art as well as drawings and collages reimagining the history of flight from 19th-century artist Charles Dellschau.
Fair-goers can catch seminars on spirit photography, academic curiosity cabinets, 16th-century alchemy and more. Barbara Slate, a comic artist best known for creating the empowering character Ms. Liz, will host a launch event for her new book “Mueller Report Graphic Novel” Sept. 7.
Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. The fair will be held at the Brooklyn Expo Center at 72 Noble St. in Greenpoint. For tickets and info, visit brooklynbookfair.com
