Book fest spotlight: Transnational Sci Fi: A Border-Crossing, Otherworldly Reading

As part of the Brooklyn Book Festival, Sci Fi authors Alice Sola Kim and Nur Nasreem Ibrahim will meet at the Asian Writers’ Workshop to discuss two groundbreaking international Sci Fi anthologies published in 2019: “Readymade Bodhisattava: The Kaya Anthology of South Korean Sci Fi” from Kaya Press and “The Gollancz Book of South Asian Science Fiction” from Hchette India.

Editor Ruoxi Chen will moderate the discussion, which will center on new frontiers in Sci Fi and how the genre brings together writers and readers from across the globe.

The Transnational Sci Fi Reading will be held at 7 p.m. at 110-112 West 27th St. in Manhattan on Sept. 17. The event is an official part of the Brooklyn Book Fest and is free and open to the public.
